Pre-construction: where sustainable builds are won
Sustainable by design, not by label. How accurate pre-construction reduces waste, cost and risk at the same time.
Sustainability starts with design
Sustainability isn’t a trend. It’s how we build. Solar panels and batteries are an important part of the picture, but true sustainability starts with design. We design homes that capture natural light, encourage airflow and stay comfortable year-round.
A waste problem decided on paper
In 2018–19, Australia’s building and construction sector generated around 27 million tonnes of waste — about 44% of the national total (National Waste Report 2020). Much of it is locked in by decisions made long before site: late changes, over-ordering and rework.
Less waste through planning
In pre-construction we mark up every item on the plans and price it. Accurate quantities and fixed selections mean less over-ordering and less rework. On site, bulk waste is separated for recycling, offcuts are reused where possible and packaging is returned to suppliers.
Materials chosen for their whole life
We favour durable, low-maintenance materials that won’t need early replacement, low-emission products, and FSC- or PEFC-certified timber from local suppliers where practical.
Built for how you’ll live in 20 years
Airtight, well-insulated envelopes with good orientation and shading need less energy to heat and cool. Water-efficient fixtures and rainwater harvesting reduce mains use, and switchboards are sized for solar, battery storage and EV charging.
